To say that delivering notices and communications to Owners and Residents has become increasingly difficult in the last few years would be a huge understatement. On the one hand, the USPS has become progressively unreliable for a few years now. On the other, as our email inboxes get filled up with more and more messages, email open rates today have fallen to a mere 18%… Here are some important stats that will help you to ensure that your notice gets delivered:

Snail-mail is not as effective as we think it is, even though it has a 42% open rate, which is relatively good. People open the direct mail because they don’t want to see mail stuck in their mailbox; that is why its high open rate, but the response rate is meager, so if you are trying to drive action, as firm a consent form, this won’t be the best way to achieve this.

Email used to be really effective, but nowadays, people receive so many emails that they end up ignoring them and believing that most of them are spam, provoking a really low open rate and an even lower response rate.

Finally, we have SMS or In-App notifications, one of the best channels to connect with your community, with a 98% open rate and a 45% response rate. Why is that? No one wants to leave a non-answered notification or text.

Fun fact: 33% of Americans spend more time on their mobile devices than their spouses. So let’s take advantage!
